Course description

The aim of the course is to provide in-depth knowledge of music education as a scientific area of research, with special emphasis on relevant research designs and academic writing. Furthermore, the doctoral student shall develop their own research plan based on a scientific-theoretical and methodological context. The course also aims to provide an overview of the rights and obligations of doctoral students.

Target group

The course is mandatory for doctoral students accepted to the doctoral education in the subject music education at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts.

Entry requirements

For admissioin to the course, the doctoral student is  required to have been admitted to doctoral (third-cycle) education. 

Selection

Doctoral students at the faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, University of Gothenburg, have priority.

Educational partnership

The course is organised in collaboration with Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University.
