Course description
The course will give graduate students a broad holistic knowledge about the climatology and geomorphology in a non-Nordic location. Lectures and seminars will take an earth system perspective and cover; geology and geological history, geomorphological regions, regional climate and climate zones, terrestrial ecology, water resources and management, economy, sustainable development and regional geography.
The course will be given part time, with literature studies and lectures. During two weeks (c. 14 days) an field excursion will take place. During the field excursion students will present reports from specific topics/areas throughout the course of the excursion.
All items including lectures, production of study guide and excursion are compulsory.

The course is available for phd-students admitted to third cycle education at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Gothenburg.
Other information
The excursion involves expenses for the participants who are recommended to apply for funding to cover these costs according to a preliminary budget.
