Course description

The course includes a combination of lectures and practical sessions that introduces the statistical tool R. R is a software as well as a programming language that is used for statistical analyses and to create nice plots and graphs.

The course will be given in English and no prior experience in R is required.

Participants are required to bring their own computer and have the corresponding administrator rights.

This course is the basis for more advanced courses where R is used. 

Requirements and Selection

Entry requirements

The course is open for PhD students accepted by a Swedish or international university, in need to analyze different sets data using R.

In order to apply for the course you should have:

A background in genetics, cell biology, biomedicine, biochemistry, bioinformatics or similar

Selection

Selection is performed according to the following:

  1. PhD students at Sahlgrenska Academy,
  2. PhD students enrolled at another university within a formal collaborative agreement on doctoral education with Sahlgrenska Academy,
  3. PhD students enrolled at another faculty at the University of Gothenburg or another university in Sweden,
  4. PhD students enrolled at a university outside Sweden.
