Course description
This course covers the contemporary debate and state of research within the doctoral student’s thematic specialization. It identifies, compares and evaluates key concepts, theoretical developments and significant contributions within the student’s specialist field. The student will discuss how theory and concepts may be applied within their field. The course gives enhanced knowledge and understanding of ongoing research that is of immediate relevance for the theme of the dissertation.

The course is given for PhD students in Social Anthropology at the School of Global studies, University of Gothenburg.
Other information
The course is taught through lectures, seminars and individual work. It may also be offered as a reading course comprising independent study with teaching taking the form of discussion and supervision.
