Course description

The aim of the course is to enable the student to design a dissertation project with a clear goal, relevance for the discipline, and an empirical and thematic field. The dissertation design must formulate the research problem, research questions, theoretical approach, choice of methods and ethical considerations and explain the motivation for these. It must also include a clear time schedule for the project work.

Target group

This course is compulsary for PhD students in Social Anthropology at the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg. The course is also open for students enrolled in a PhD program in Social Anthropology at other departments and universities

Requirements and Selection

Entry requirements

General entrance requirements for studies in the third cycle.

Selection

PhD students at the School of Global Studies will be given priority. Other applicants will be assessed and admitted based on the relevance of their PhD project.
