Course description
Research integrity includes three dimensions: relations with research participants, academic professionalism, and the societal role of research. The course considers good research practice, which includes research integrity, ethical challenges, and intersubjective dilemmas that may arise before, during and after ethnographic fieldwork. It emphasises the contingency of ethical problems in anthropological research processes, and discusses how to identify, assess and handle these. The course addresses the practices and politics of ethical approvals, and it offers tools to carry out an application for ethical review, with a special emphasis how this is done in the Swedish context.
